How important are sound doctrine and faith?

Very important — because what we believe shapes how we live.

Scripture warns us not to be “tossed to and fro” by every new idea, popular opinion, or false teaching. Instead, we are called to be firm in faith and to grow in truth toward Christ.

“We may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine…” (Eph. 4:14)

Sound doctrine gives us stability. Faith keeps us anchored. And both should lead us to grow up into Christ.

Why is man important?

Because humanity was created in the image of God.

“So God created man in his own image… male and female he created them.” (Gen. 1:27)

Our value does not come from success, ability, status, or what others think of us. It comes from the God who made us.

And yet Scripture also reminds us that we are fragile — “we are dust.” God knows our weakness and still shows compassion toward us.

Created in his image. Known in our weakness. Loved by our creator.

Should we fear?

Fear is real — but Scripture teaches us where to turn when it comes.

“Fear not, for I am with you… I will strengthen you, I will help you.” (Isa. 41:10)

God does not promise that we will never feel afraid. Psalm 56:3 says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”

The answer to fear is not pretending everything is fine. It is choosing to trust the God who is with us, strengthens us, and holds us fast. ✝️

Why must we praise God?

Because praise is the natural response to who God is and what He has done.

“The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him.” (Ex. 15:2)

We praise him because he saves, strengthens, provides, and because his name is great, awesome, and holy.

Praise is more than singing — it is gratitude, worship, and giving God the honour he deserves. ✝️

What is the legal demand due to God?

Scripture shows that we are accountable to God and that sin leaves us with a debt we cannot cancel ourselves.

But Colossians 2 gives us the good news:

“He forgave us all our trespasses, by cancelling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands.” (Col. 2:13–14)

God’s standard is perfect obedience — and we fall short. Yet in Christ, the debt is cancelled.

What we could never repay, Jesus dealt with at the cross. ✝️
