What is faith?

Scripture

What is faith?

Faith is trusting God even when we cannot yet see the outcome.

Hebrews 11:1 describes faith as the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. It is not blind optimism — it is confidence rooted in who God is and what He has promised.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Cor. 5:7)

Faith looks beyond what is temporary and fixes its eyes on what is eternal. ✝️

How does the Gospel make us God’s people?

Scripture

How does the Gospel make us God’s people?

The Gospel brings together people from different places, backgrounds and cultures into one family in Christ.

Peter wrote to believers scattered across many regions, yet reminded them of one shared identity: God’s people.

“Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” (1 Peter 2:10)

In Christ, we are united by something greater than nationality or background — one faith, one hope, one people. ✝️

What is forgiveness?

Scripture

What is forgiveness?

Forgiveness is most clearly seen in Jesus.

Even while suffering on the cross, He prayed for those responsible: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34) A Cuban prisoner followed this example: so humbling!

Biblical forgiveness does not pretend that wrong never happened. It chooses mercy instead of revenge and entrusts justice to God.

The cross shows us both the severity of sin and the greatness of grace. ✝️

How do we know that God exists

Scripture

How do we know that God exists?

Look at creation. 🌌

The heavens, the moon, the stars and the beauty of the earth all point beyond themselves to the One who made them.

“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place…” (Ps. 8:3)

Creation declares his glory, and Scripture tells us is the work of the creator.

“O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” Ps. 8:9)

What does personal faith look like?

Scripture

What does personal faith look like?

Personal faith is more than knowing about Jesus — it is knowing whom you have believed and trusting him with your life.

Paul could say, “Christ lives in me,” because his faith was personal, active and rooted in the Son of God who loved him and gave himself for him.

Faith in Christ changes how we live, what we trust, and where our confidence lies. ✝️

“I know whom I have believed…” (2 Tim. 1:12)
