Moral Law

The Ten Commandment define morality

What must we put to death?

Scripture

What must we put to death?

Following Christ means leaving behind the patterns of the old life.

“Put to death therefore what is earthly in you…” ( Col. 3:5)

Scripture names sexual immorality, impurity, evil desire, covetousness, anger, malice, slander, and obscene talk as things that no longer belong in the life of someone who follows Christ.

We may once have walked in these things — but in Jesus, we are called to a new life.

Put away the old. Walk in the new. Follow Christ. ✝️

How important is God’s law

Scripture

How important is God’s law?

God’s commands are not meant to be separated from love — they show us what love looks like in practice.

Jesus summed it up clearly:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matt. 22:37)

And “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (v. 39)

God’s law directs us toward love for him and love for others. Following his Word keeps us from being pulled in every direction and teaches us how to live faithfully. ✝️

Can anything take God’s place

Scripture

Can anything take God’s place?

Scripture’s answer is clear: no.

“I am the LORD; that is my name; my glory I give to no other…” (Isa. 42:8)

Nothing created deserves the worship that belongs to God alone. Not images, possessions, success, people, or anything else we may be tempted to place above Him.

“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24)

God alone deserves our worship, our praise, and first place in our hearts. ✝️

Does the Bible tell us to pray to saints

Scripture

Does the Bible tell us to pray to saints?

Scripture points us directly to God through Jesus Christ.

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” ( 1 Tim. 2:5)

Because of Christ, we are invited to come boldly before God ourselves:

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace…” (Heb. 4:16)

Our access to God is not through another human mediator — it is through Christ alone. ✝️

Does man have an excuse for not following the Law?

Scripture

Does man have an excuse for not following God’s law?

Romans 2 shows that even those who did not receive the written law still have a conscience that bears witness to right and wrong.

“They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness.” (Rom. 2:15)

God’s standard is not hidden from humanity. Our conscience itself points to moral accountability before him.

We may try to excuse ourselves, but Scripture reminds us that God sees the heart — and that ultimately, we all need his mercy.
