Living according to Scripture

What is forgiveness?

Scripture

What is forgiveness?

Forgiveness is most clearly seen in Jesus.

Even while suffering on the cross, He prayed for those responsible: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34) A Cuban prisoner followed this example: so humbling!

Biblical forgiveness does not pretend that wrong never happened. It chooses mercy instead of revenge and entrusts justice to God.

The cross shows us both the severity of sin and the greatness of grace. ✝️

What is repentance?

Scripture explained

Repentance is not simply feeling sorry for sin — it is a turning away from evil and a turning toward God.

Scripture shows us that true repentance produces a changed direction: leaving what is wrong, pursuing what is good, seeking justice, and living differently.

“Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” (Ps 34:14)

Repentance begins in the heart, but its fruit can be seen in the life.

Repent and believe

Scripture explained

Repent and believe the gospel. ✝️

Repentance is more than feeling sorry — it is turning away from sin and turning toward God.

Throughout Scripture, the call is the same: forsake the old way, turn from idols and evil, and believe the good news of Jesus Christ.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)

The cross reminds us that forgiveness is available to all who turn to him in faith.

What is the difference between a truth and a lie?

Scripture explained

What is the difference between truth and a lie?

A lie turns us away from God, but truth leads us back to him. Scripture reminds us that God’s word is truth, and Jesus himself said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6) Download your copy of Why Jesus here.

In a world full of opinions, changing ideas and deception, we need something solid unchanging on which to stand.

God’s word is truth!

By what are you living?

Scripture explained

By what are you living?

The Israelites spent 40 years in the wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days in the wilderness. And through both, Scripture points us to the same truth:

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

We need food for our bodies, but we need God’s Word for our souls. His word is not an optional extra—it is truth, direction, correction and life.

Don’t only feed your body today. Feed your soul with Scripture.

(Deut 8:3: Matt 4:4)
