Tell us about God

Scripture explained

God is neither distant, unknown, nor silent.

Scripture gives us what we need to know: He is:

Holy!
Great!
Merciful!
Sovereign!
Powerful!
All-knowing!
Worthy of praise!
One!

He is also known by his works:

Creator!
Saviour!
Judge.

The more we know God through his word, the more we see that he is not like us. He is infinitely greater, perfectly holy, and worthy of all worship.

May we not create a god in our own image, but bow before the God who has revealed himself in Scripture.

“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.” (Ps 145:3)

Who offers eternal salvation

Scriptural explanation

There is only one name that saves — Jesus. ✝️

Salvation isn’t found in our own goodness, our achievements, or anywhere else. Scripture points us clearly to Christ.

“And there is salvation in no one else …”(Acts 4:12)

The gospel is the power of God for salvation, and Jesus is the source of eternal salvation to all who belong to him.

One Saviour. One gospel. One way to eternal salvation. Read more about Why Jesus here.

Where does it say that God is holy?

Scripture explained

Who is God?

The Bible doesn’t describe God as merely loving, wise, or powerful.

It declares:

“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts.” (Isa 6:3)

God’s holiness means He is completely pure, perfectly righteous, and utterly separate from all sin. He never changes, never compromises, and never does wrong.

When we begin to understand God’s holiness, we also begin to understand why we need a Saviour.

The gospel only makes sense when we first see who God is—and then who we are in light of Him.

“Exalt the LORD our God… for the LORD our God is holy.” (Ps 99:9)

Why do we trust the Bible?

Scripture explained

Not because it makes us feel good.
Not because it is the world’s most popular book.

We trust the Bible because it is God’s Word.

Scripture tells us that it is God-breathed, true, and that it will stand forever. If God cannot lie, then his word can be trusted completely.

In a world where opinions constantly change, God’s truth never does.

Don’t build your life on what is popular. Build it on what God has spoken. Download the Why Jesus book

“Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” (John 17:17)

Repent!

Simple Scripture

Tomorrow is never promised.

The Bible doesn’t say, “Repent when you’re ready.”
It says, “Repent and believe the gospel.”

Every one of us is walking toward eternity. The question isn’t if—it’s where.

Repentance isn’t simply feeling sorry for sin. It’s turning away from sin and turning to God through faith in Jesus Christ. See more for whom Jesus came here.

Don’t harden your heart. Don’t delay. Today is the day to respond to the gospel.

“Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3)
